How do I ensure proper compliance with the Form I-9 requirements?

While both the current and new form is in effect until January 21, 2017, employers should make sure they are ready to switch over to using the new form only as of January 22, 2017, by destroying any printed out unused blank forms and having only the new one available.

Employers should review the I-9 instructions to avoid having incomplete or improperly prepared I-9 forms.  

Employers must make sure to have a completed I-9 form for all employees hired after November 6, 1986.
