OSHA Safety Certificate Series

Need to build your safety program? Want help getting started? This training program is intended to provide entry-level leadership and management in safety training for general industry. Learn how to build your health and safety management system. Training will emphasize hazard identification, control, and prevention. We will provide you with a list of policies, procedures, documents, training topics, and systems that you are required to have based on the OSHA General Industry Standards. You will earn an OSHA 10 Certification in General Industry if you attend both days.

This highly interactive series is ideal for those with responsibility for their organizational overall safety compliance, programs, and training, and is applicable throughout industries such as manufacturing, distribution, colleges & universities, restaurants, hotels, municipalities, healthcare, construction and non-profits.

DAY 1 – Leadership and Management in Safety – 6.5 hours
  • Workers’ Rights / Employer Responsibilities – OSHA Intro
  • Record Keeping – OSHA 300/ 300A log
  • Training Requirements for General Industry
  • OSHA Penalties and Citations
  • Safety and Health Management Systems
  • Job Safety Analysis Form and How to Use it 
  • Incident Investigation/Near Miss Program
  • Role of the Safety Committee
  • Establishing a first aid, CPR/AED and BBP response team
  • Hazardous Communication SDS and Labeling changes and requirements
  • Emergency Action Planning to include Fire and Workplace Violence
     

DAY 2 – OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Standards – 6.5 hours

  • Walking and Working Surfaces – Fall Protection
  • Electrical, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Arc Flash (NFPA 70e)
  • Machine Guarding
  • Personal Protective Equipment to include hearing and respiratory
  • Forklift Requirements in Massachusetts
  • New Hot Work Permit Requirements in Massachusetts
  • Facility Inspections – What are you required to do?
  • OSHA Website – How to use it? How can I benefit from osha.gov?
