How do I comply with the Massachusetts Pay Equity legislation?

This law isn’t effective until July 1, 2018.  However, most companies will find that they have much to do before then.

There are three main things that employers must do – ensure that they do no inquire into the salary history of an applicant; take no adverse action against employees who inquire into, share or discuss salary information and conduct a self-audit to identify and remedy gender-based wage disparities. Employers may want to start reviewing their job descriptions to ensure they adequately reflect the scope and responsibilities as well as education and experience requirements.
