How do I manage marijuana in the workplace?

The two marijuana laws make it clear that employers do not have to allow employees to use or otherwise accommodate a person’s marijuana use in the workplace.

To maximize the effectiveness of its policy, an employer should establish a clear and easy to understand drug and alcohol policy that includes marijuana and defines the term workplace to ensure the most thorough coverage. Employers should also train their supervisors in the details of their drug testing policy, to ensure compliance.
